Thomas J. McSorley
Office of the Managing Partners
As Founder and Managing Partner, Mr. McSorley has put his strategic
mark on almost every client that has walked through the door—-from
Medtronic, Inc., Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG, to the Development Office
of the City of Maastricht, The Netherlands; Tom provides strategic
vision for Bourget and is hands-on passionate about helping clients
solve challenging business problems. He leads the Trans-Atlantic
Development Unit and the International Non-Governmental Organization
(NGO) Unit, a consortium of seasoned international business executives
who provide their insight and expertise to CEO's with specific
international expansion challenges. Under his leadership, programs for
client service liaison are continuously renewed on an international
scale.
Mr. McSorley is a seasoned international sales and marketing
professional with over 20 years of international multidisciplinary
expertise within high technology industries (biotech, medical device
and allied industries), specialty food, specialty paper, industrial
equipment, as well as within academic institutions.
Prior to founding Bourget, Mr. McSorley was an international sales
executive at HemoTec, Inc./BioMedicus, Inc./Medtronic, Inc. where he
fulfilled responsibilities as Director International Operations
(Cardiopulmonary Division). Prior to this tenure, Mr. McSorley held
various positions with escalating responsibilities in both marketing
and sales management and international product management disciplines
with multinational advanced technology corporations as well as
technology driven start-up companies.
International background includes resident project management
assignments in Saudi Arabia, Greece, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium,
United Kingdom and Italy. Expertise and strengths include building
management teams, building "Go-to-Market" teams, and strategic market
planning--plus the implementation to make those plans successful.
Mr. McSorley earned a BA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA)
in International Relations. Prior to serving as an Officer in the U.S.
Army Medical Service Corp, he completed the first year MBA curriculum
at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He finished his MBA program at the
London Business School, London, England (UK), where he also completed
the London Business School Executive Development Program.
Mr. McSorley is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Boston University-Brussels
(BE), United Business Institutes (BE), and the University of Wales (UK)
instructing BBA, MA, and MBA students in Marketing Research,
International Marketing, Leadership, and Strategic Management. He holds
a visiting lectureship position at Maastricht University (NL), College
of Business and Economics and at Lotus University- Hoa Sen University –
City Campus in Ho Chi Ming City, Vietnam. Mr. McSorley has fulfilled
numerous speaking engagements worldwide on topics related to
International Sales, International Marketing Management, and Strategic
Management.
Tom is an American national who has had his passport stamped in over
forty-three (43) countries and has traveled round-trip across the
Atlantic Ocean more than eighty (80) times. He lives in Brussels,
Belgium and is slowly learning to play Briscola and ring church bells.
