In developing business development solutions for our clients, we draw on the knowledge and experience of The Bourget International Group's Advisory Board of industry professionals, academics, government officials, lawyers, technology consultants, and leaders of non-profit organizations who advise us on a wide range of business issues including platform design, program design and implementation.

WHY BOURGET USES A STRATEGIC ADVISORY BOARD

A strategic advisory board is a flexible way to balance our management teams skills, bring in outside expertise, gain access to clients and explore opportunities that a small specialty consulting firm might not be able to afford otherwise. Examples include exploring the viability of a new service offering, a new industry to enter or a new geographic region to expand into. Our Advisory Board Members are naturally curious, familiar with our practices and ready to network when a problem calls for outside assistance in addressing a critical client service challenge.

WHY WE SET UP OUR STRATEGIC ADVISORY BOARD

Our goal is to externalize our enterprise and get that outside view. The firm benefits from it in tremendous and unexpected ways. Yes, it is difficult to air your dirty laundry or take criticism, no matter how constructive. But improvement means humble risk-taking. Our dreams are riding on it. Our board is limited to five members with term limits of one year. Each member is a responsible team player, but also has the integrity and ability to challenge us in a teachable way. Board diversity requirements are considered for age, ethnicity, experience in Europe and gender. Getting that different perspective is the purpose of the board.

HOW DO WE RECRUIT BOARD MEMBERS?

Members are recruited on the basis of contributions to Bourget goals, innovative mentorship and strategic thinking. The Advisory Board Chair in the key point of contact with Bourget. "The Chair", appointed for a term of two years, possesses strong communication, facilitation and organization skills to motivate and track progress.

HOW WE COMPENSATE OUR STRATEGIC ADVISORY BOARD

Bourget has been able to create our board without compensation. This was done by creating an extremely attractive group that others want to be a part of, with an atmosphere of professionalism, enthusiasm and passionate mission.
